I have owned it since 1991. It has won Ford Fair Concourse, three XROC National Days, 2nd in the EFE, FITP Best FCGB Car and was used for Ford Heritage - XR Style Magazine. It is more a used car these days.

Seen it (and spoken to you .. duh) at FITP 2006..

stunning looking car.. modestly modified ..

love the doorpods ..although they look a bit massive on the grey background ..

Love the half leather seats..

Loved the exhaust..

lose the gearknob though. :-P it doesn't suit the rest of the car. You could try a Fiesta mk5 leather gearknob

keep it in this shape (-:

Thanks for you kind comments.

Door pods - When sitting inside and the volume turned up, your trousers move with the vibration from the speakers.{cool}

The gearknob stays! I know what you are saying, the grey leather FRST ones are nice, but they do deteriate. :(

A quick update.

I have been wanting to purchase some new wheels, but because of the brakes have been unable to. So today the front brakes have been revised.

Never assume because the front of the disks look ok, that the backs are!

OhI have also bought a runaround!

It is not the 2i, but it does the job. :jaknikker:

Nice break setup Andie, is it the HiSpec Billet 4?

The runaround is of course a good choice :jaknikker:

Hansie, yes they are the Billet 4 with Mondeo 285/24 discs. If anyone is coming to FITP, Hi-Spec are going to be there as a trader. :veryhappy: The 2i maybe used by them on their stand.

The runaround is cheap to run and as it has a few dents can be left anywhere.

Runabout (-: great car (-:

the Hispec brakes look great.. but why this change ?

going from cossie 4x4 (278*36*24) to Mondeo discs (278*47*24) and going from Willwoods to Hispec.

but why this change ? they won't be that much different in brake power i presume ? is it due to wheel spacers ? or different alloys .. other offset etc ?

Hi Jur,

The Hi-Spec ones are more powerful, but they also give a better clearance to change the wheels and loose the wheel spacers. I have also noticed the change has lightened the steering, although it is still heavy.

I am still looking for wheels, I may go for something like these:-

The enlighted steering probably is caused by the lossing of the spacer (although it's JUST probably 5 or 10mm)

As the mondeo disc sits around 11mm more inward compared to the cossie disc, causes the caliper clearance (-: which in it's turn offers you the possibility of loosing the spacer (-:

(hmmz.. that's why i'm using the mondeo discs in stead of the cossie 4x4 ones :-P )

Is the difference in power that much noticeable ? is the surface of the piston(s) that much bigger compared to the willwoods ?

Hi-Spec say that their calipers are more powerful, I have done less than 10km on them so am still bedding them in. I don't want to warp the disks if I can help it.

I could measure the old calipers and look at Hi-Spec drawing to see if the piston sizes are much different.
