Dakdragers mk8 met panoramisch zonnedak: werkt prima! (Roofbars mk8 with panoramic sunroof, it works! )

De originele handleiding van de Ford (OEM) dakdragers toont op pagina 16 figuur 10 dat je met gemonteerde dakdragers je zonnedak niet mag openen. De afbeelding toont de gemonteerde dakdragers en er wordt niet gesteld dat dit niet zou mogen. Zelf gedaan en alles werkt perfect. De dragers raken het glas niet, enkel de bovenzijde van de deur profielen.

Zodat niemand per ongeluk het dak opent met gemonteerde dakdragers, heb ik een qualiteits handbedienbare zekeringsautomaat geïnstalleerd ipv de gerelateerde smeltzekering #6 (10A). De bediening is mogelijk bij geopend handschoenvak.

The OEM roofbars manual, on page 16, image 10, states (albeit visually) that the sunroof cannot be opened while the roofbars are mounted. It does NOT state they cannot be mounted. I did and they fit and operate perfect. They do not touch the glass anywhere but solely the metal profiles above the doors.

 

To let nobody accidentally open the roof with mounted roofbars, I replaced the relevant fuse #6 (10A) with an OEM quality auto-fuse circuit breaker that can be manually trigged and reset (works as on/off switch) and is accessable from the glovebox.
